League of American Bicyclists (LAB)

We are a member of the League of American Bicyclists.

For generations past and to come, THE LEAGUE represents bicyclists in the movement to create safer roads, stronger communities, and a Bicycle Friendly America. Through education, advocacy and promotion, we work to celebrate and preserve the freedom cycling brings to our members everywhere.

LAB Believes

Bicycling brings people together.
     Communities are safer, stronger and better connected;
     Our nation is healthier, economically stronger, environmentally cleaner and
     more energy independent.

When more people ride bikes . . . Life is better for everyone;

LAB's Vision . . . is a nation where everyone recognizes and enjoys the many benefits and opportunities of bicycling.

LAB's Mission . . . is to lead the movement to create a Bicycle Friendly America for everyone. As leaders, our commitment is to listen and learn, define standards and share best practices to engage diverse communities and build a powerful, unified voice for change.

We support the following community organizations

Bike Walk Knoxville

Bike Walk Knoxville works to improve biking and walking opportunities in the Knoxville community. The organization works to make sure all ages and abilities in the community have safe and accessible streets for walking and biking. This organization is sponsoring a petition to the City of Knoxville, please read and sign if you agree with this cause.

Club Vibes

Club VIBES outdoor recreation program currently includes monthly hiking and tandem biking excursions. Club members are paired with experienced hikers or tandem pilots, allowing volunteers to share recreational and fitness activities with those whose vision loss would otherwise restrict them from safely navigating outdoor terrain or piloting a bike.

Jeff Roth Cycling Foundation

The JEFF ROTH CYCLING FOUNDATION promotes cycling, through advocacy and education, as a safe and healthy form of recreation and transportation. We are increasing awareness of the Jeff Roth/Brian Brown Protection Act of 2007 and promoting a harmonious relationship between motorists and cyclists, as the number of commuting cyclists are ever increasing in our state of Tennessee and our country.
