Join the Smoky Mountain Wheelman Club this Wednesday for a ride to Elkmont Campground. This Wednesday we are asking that all members wear their Smoky Mountain Wheelman kits. So breakout your SMW jerseys, bibs or shorts for the ride.
EVENT: Road Ride to Elkmont Campground
WHERE: Coulter Bridge 3270-3299 Ellejoy Road, Walland, TN 37804 Rollout time 09:00
Alternate Starting Points: If you wish to start and finish early meet at the first paved parking as you enter Townsend for and 8:15 rollout time. The group will ride to Coulter Bridge to meet those that wish to start there. For a shorter route you can meet road group anywhere along Townsend greenway parking lot for a 9:45 rollout time.
WHEN: Wednesday August 26, 2026
ROUTE: This route will go through Townsend and into the national park then up to Elmont Campground. With this being an out and back ride there are many ways to adjust the route to the distance you like. There are no bathroom facilities at Coulter Bridge but we will stop in Townsend for a short break and there are porta potties there.
WEATHER: Temperatures in the upper low 70's at the beginning of the ride increasing to the mid 80's by the end. Check SMW calendar for any weather cancelation at 7:00am day of the ride.
